Given the success of the first edition, we repeat it this year. There are several months ahead so let's get to work!
At the end of the year we are going to put together a Christmas tree with the origami that we receive from the country and abroad. We hope you join this initiative!
All you have to do is fold your origami, sign it, write a wish and take it to the museum. If you live far away, you can send it by mail.
Remember that you have to arrive in Cologne before December 20, 2023.
Send your work to:
Origami Museum
Ituzaingó 131, Historic District
Sacramento Colony
Cologne (70,000)
Uruguay
Are you in Argentina? You can also participate by leaving your origami at an address there. For more info click on this link.
The tree will be on display at the museum until January 6, 2024. Photos and wishes will travel the world through social media. They will also be seen by hundreds of visitors who come to the museum.
Don't know where to start? It doesn't matter! If you've never folded origami before, you can start with something simple. If you are already an expert, you can make your favorite origami. Do not forget to write your name in a visible place on your work. On a separate piece of paper, write down a wish that you would like to see come true next year.
On the Internet and especially on YouTube you will find instructions to make many origami. They can be Christmas ornaments, animals, flowers, whatever you like!
The proposal is open to children and adults, regardless of age. You can send us one or more... the ones you want! We take care of placing a thread to hang them from the branches of the tree and complete the decoration.
As for the paper, it does not need to be something special either. You can use kraft paper, glaze, or even printer paper and if you want you can paint it. We suggest you use 15cm x 15cm or similar papers. That will allow you to work comfortably. If your figure is flat, you can put it in an envelope; If it is three-dimensional, you should put it in a box to send it, so it doesn't get crushed.
Here are some suggestions. But don't feel limited. You have total freedom to make the origami that you like the most!
